Soobeen Woo is a media artist based in Bremen, Germany, whose work navigates the complex interplay between human identity, technology, and the environment. Rooted in an exploration of fluid and evolving identities, her practice examines how digital and physical realities merge, transform, and redefine one another. Central to her work is a critical inquiry into the anthropocentric perspectives that often shape our understanding of the world, challenging audiences to consider the invisible and overlooked dimensions of existence.

Through installations, virtual environments, and interactive experiences, she delves into themes surrounding the transformation of identity, the relationship between humans and technology, and the interconnectedness of living and non-living entities. By integrating cutting-edge tools like AI, VR, and data visualization with tactile elements, she bridges the gap between the virtual and the real, inviting audiences to engage with new sensory and intellectual paradigms.

Her work often reflects a speculative and conceptual approach, constructing alternate realities to provoke thought and reimagine the future. Her projects emphasize sustainability, interconnectivity, and the reshaping of identity in response to environmental, technological, and cultural shifts. Whether addressing air pollution, urban adaptation, or the materiality of breath, her practice seeks to uncover contradictions and inspire dialogue about humanity’s place within a rapidly changing ecosystem.
